Electroless
nickel exhibits excellent corrosion and wear resistance,
low surface friction and hardness. Deposits are uniform
in thickness over all surfaces, so that irregular shapes
can be protected from corrosion in areas where electroplated
deposits would be thin or totally lacking. This
finish is used in the medical, food services, and chemical
industries.
